Father's Day Concert with Sylvia Berry: Haydn and the Ladies of London
Solo works, chamber music, and songs written by Haydn for women whom he befriended during his two London sojourns. Sylvia celebrates the release of her debut CD (Haydn: London Sonatas) in a programfeaturing beloved and sparkling works by Haydn written for women he befriended during his two London sojourns: The virtuoso pianist Therese Jansen Bartolozzi; the Scottish poetess Anne Hunter; and his student Rebecca Schroeter. Chamber music, piano works, and songs performed on a recently restored Broadwood grand with members of the Handel and Haydn society and jubilant soprano Anney Barrett.
