The Space/Movement Project presents "Safety in Numbers"

Safety in Numbers explores the Chicago-based backgrounds of individual company members ancestries and how experience affects personal movement tendencies. Research has led the group to a larger question: How do we build community in the urban environment?

Tracking our families and our own experiences throughout Chicago, choreographers have discovered how relationships impact and are affected by city life. As we identified the differences between each of us as newcomers or natives, we noticed a common desire for comfort and familiarity whether through the anonymity of a large city or proximity to home. Safety in Numbers is a reflection of these findings.

Safety in Numbers features choreography by Allyson Esposito, Anne Kasdorf, Maggie Koller, Leah Raffanti, Megan Schneeberger and Stacy Wolfson. TS/MP also includes Larisa Eastman, Chloe Nisbett and Jessie Young.
