Baroque Inside/Out
A Staunton Music Festival summer tradition, this concert will feature a program of baroque music performed on original instruments by an outstanding group of American and international baroque specialists. The concert will take place both inside of Trinity Church and outside on its beautiful and historic church grounds. The program will include:
Pachelbel Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied and Exsurgat Deus
Glettle O Jesu. Rex Noster and Bonum Certamen
J.S.Bach Concerto in C for two harpsichords and strings; Sinfonia, S.12,i; Wir muessen durch viel Truebsam S.12,iii; Kreuz und Krone sind verbunden, S.12,iv, and, finally, Overture in C, S.1066.
Performers will include Drew Minter (countertenor), Michael Haag (bass), the Madison Singers (Patrick Walders, director), David Schrader (harpsichord and organ), Carsten Schmidt (harpsichord), Garry Clarke (baroque violin), Martin Davids (baroque violin), Gesa Kordes (baroque viola), James Wilson (baroque cello), Anthony Manzo (baroque bass), Washington McClain (baroque oboe), Aleksander Fester (baroque oboe), and Kelsey Schilling (baroque bassoon)
