To ensure the uninterrupted presentation of the 15th Annual Hayward Russell City Blues Festival and help off-set reduced funding due to budget cuts.
The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival celebrates the rich musical history found in Russell City and Hayward during the post war years from the 1940's thru the 1960's. The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival showcases, educates and fosters pride in the community about the musical roots of African Americans and their significant contributions to American culture. The blues is a purely American art form born of African American experiences, which found fertile soil in Hayward. The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival brings live on stage a real time capsule recognizing with pride, the musical legacy of Russell City.
