The Mike Rose/Kelly Park Big Band at the Sound Room
A room full of sound at the Sound Room!
A full Big Band - what's not to like? Our 1st rendition of this event was so successful we have now made it into an ongoing event.
The Mike Rose/Kelly Park Big Band is a seventeen piece Jazz Orchestra that truly takes joy in performing big band music of the past and present. This exciting ensemble plays some of the classic big band repertoire as well as original arrangements and compositions by members of the group. The band is comprised of veteran Bay Area musicians with an extensive history of playing, touring, and recording with some of the world's top acts including; Barry Manilow, Pete and Shiela Escovedo, Thad Jones, Kenny G, Stan Kenton Band, Eddie Money, The Shirells, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Huey Lewis, and many more.
