"Everyone Can Dance" - Come Dance, End Isolation and Build Social Movement
"Everyone Can Dance" is a community dance to celebrate disability pride. The dance is on Saturday, July 25th from 5-9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Center in San Francisco.
The dance is open to people of all ages and abilities. Many other community based organizations and companies are co-sponsoring this dance.
For example, AXIS Dance Company will be kicking off the dance teaching the dancers new ways to think about movement. (http://www.axisdance.org). After this brief lesson, we all can dance. Leroy Moore Jr. of Krip Hop Nation and Sins Invalid is pulling together a mix of popular dance hits including dance music written and performed by people with disabilities and DJ Reggie Daniels will be spinning the tunes.
Sponsors include: Vicolo Pizza, Trader Joe's, Hansen Soda, Perkins Coie along with community based organizations: UU's EquualAccess.Org, Toolworks, Hope Services, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, Fabled Asp and The Dyke March.
Admission to the dance starts at $5 and up (based on an individual's ability to pay).
Please plan to celebrate at Everyone Can Dance!!!
Free parking is available for the dance at Saint Mary's Cathedral on Geary Street.
