Treasures
This spring concert will feature the two adult choirs of the Columbia Choirs family, Con Brio Women's Choir and Concord Chamber Choir performing an eclectic mixture of religious, secular, art songs, folksongs, classic pop, and vocal jazz; something to please any musical palette.
Beautiful and interesting compositions will be sung by both choirs. Concord presents a program by such diverse composers as Schubert - exerpts from Mass in G Major", "Reverie" Debussy, "Exultate Deo" by Scarlatti, two Beatle favorites ("Obladi, Oblada", and "In My Life"), Sanctus from Mass by Leonard Berstein, and Frederick Delius' "Two Unaccompanied Part Songs" and a beautiful multiple part arrangement of "What a Wonderful World". Con Brio will treat us to classics by Pablo Casals' "Nigra Sum", Beethoven's "Minuet in G", Schubert's "Psalm 23" and musical treats such as the enchanting Danny Boy, a toe-tapping rendition of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and the heartwarming Irving Berlin classic "What'll I do?".
