Dances for the Next Depression
Thurs.-Sat. June 11-13, 8pm. Sun. June 14, 7pm, $20 (Members $15)
Depression? Again?? SPDT will see you through with the premiere of Sugarfoot Stomp, created by the company in collaboration with playwright-in-residence Brian Thorstenson. Out of the rehearsal notes that Pelton has saved for the past twenty years, comes a dance of wit, energy, sophistication and total zaniness. Sugarfoot Stomp is performed to the irresistible sounds of Larry Clinton & His Orchestra, a big band from the 1930s that really knew how to swing. Other highlights include last years and a white light in the back of my mind to guide me and Christy Funschs new Three Rue Road. So Cmon! Get Happy!
