WHAT:
If you had the opportunity to see Danish singer Sinne Eeg at Contrapuntal in March, you know how fantastic this line-up of musicians is. This band is made up of some of the finest jazz virtuosos that Los Angeles has to offer. Roger Neumann has either played with or arranged for such names as Woody Herman, Ray Charles, Anita O'Day, and the Beach Boys. He is a fixture on the Los Angeles jazz scene, as is Larry Koonse, son of legendary guitarist Dave Koonse and a prolific musician who has played with Billy Childs, John Patitucci, and Hubert Laws, among others. Not only is Terry Harrington an accomplished session musician having played with everyone from Quincy Jones to Earth, Wind & Fire, but every note you've heard Lisa Simpson play on The Simpsons has come out of his sax. Katie Thirouix and Matt Witek round out this extraordinarily talented combo.
