An American Christmas
Directed by Nathaniel Meyer Nathaniel Meyer is an American conductor, producer, and stage director. He is the founder and conductor of the New Opera Company of Boston, conductor of the Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor emeritus of the Du Bois Orchestra, and a frequent guest conductor. He is also interim director of the Braintree Choral Society for the '25/'26 season.
Our concert features music from American composers and music from diverse cultures which define America. It includes Z. Randall Stroope's "American Christmas" with melodies from the Shaker tradition, as well as the lively spiritual style "Behold that star" and the beautiful "Song for Snow" by Florence Price, whose works, written in the 1950s, were much ignored until recently.
The concert will be followed by a reception with light refreshments. A silent auction and raffle will take place during the intermission and reception. See our webiste for descriptions of auction items. braintreechoralsociety.weebly.com Cash, check and credit card accepted for raffle and auction items
Come let the music get you into the holiday spirit, then do your Christmas shopping at our tables!
