BLUES @ HOLIDAY INN Concert & Dining Experience with THE FROST KINGS in Concert
The popular monthly BLUES @ HOLIDAY INN Concert & Dining Experience continues to bring music lovers the opportunity to experience the best of Blues artists in concert in a comfortable supper club style event on the 2nd Thursday of each month. The series brings to its new location at the elegant The Hub restaurant and lounge at the Holiday Inn of Clark, located at 36 Valley Road, Clark, NJ on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 7:00pm the in-demand Blues, Swing and R&B sounds of The Frost Kings. The experience includes a choice of dinner entrée, chef's choice dessert and a soft beverage. Additional bar service and event drink specials are available. There is plentiful off street parking available on premises.                 The Frost Kings is a dynamic R&B, swing and blues band originating from the North Jersey area. Familiar to music fans in Northern and Central Jersey, and Southern New York State, The Frost Kings have played many festivals and venues over the years. The band has been together for over 12 years and has blended their diverse styles and backgrounds to form a popular tight-knit ensemble. Equally at home playing swinging shuffles, slow blues or full-tilt boogies, their repertoire ranges from the West Coast swing style of Louis Jordan and T-Bone Walker to the classic blues of Luther Johnson, B.B. King, Eddie "Clean Head" Vinson and Muddy Waters to the R&B of Wilson Pickett and Herbie Hancock.                   The band includes guitarist and vocalist Big Al Krotoff with over 10 years of experience performing with North Jersey favorites Voodoo Road Blues Band, Lark Brothers Band and now The Frost Kings. Al has shared the stage with The Fins, Filthy Rich and the Poor Boys, the Crescent City Maulers, and other local blues/jazz veterans.                                                                                                                                                   Jim Davis on saxophone is a Boston and NYC veteran with over 25 years of experience. Jim has recorded with Sleepy Labeef and Steve Lucky, and played with the Paul Oscher Blues Band, the Herbert Sumlin Band, Ron Sunshine's Full Swing and other national and local acts.                                                      Keyboardist Akiko Tsuruga hails from Osaka, Japan. The Hammond organist and pianist has been a mainstay in the New York jazz scene since 2001. This talented young organist began playing the organ at the age of three and launched her career in jazz immediately after graduating from the Osaka College of Music. A regular and crowd favorite at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola and at  Jazz at Lincoln Center, Akiko has headlined many well-known jazz venues, such as The Blue Note, Birdland and Smoke. She's also a featured side musician for other jazz artists such as The Grady Tate Group and the Lou Donaldson Quartet, just two of the many artists she frequently performs with.                                                            Pete Persichino on bass, a veteran of the New York City blues rock scene, brings over 25 years of experience to The Frost Kings. A veteran bass player who has played with NJ/NY bluesmen such as Dave Gross, Steve Johnson many other great musicians holds down the bottom of The Frost Kings like the true professional he is.                                                                                                                                                  Harry "Hurricane" Fiorilli on drums is a veteran with over 20 years of performing experience. Harry provides the solid back beat to The Frost Kings. A veteran of numerous bands including Filthy Rich and the Poor Boys, the Christopher Dean Band, and Hubert Sumlin, among others. Harry is the big beat       behind the swing of The Frost Kings.                                                                                                                    They are thrilled to be part of the popular Blues @ Holiday Inn concert & dining experience series and look forward to make it a regular stop. If you're not already a swing-blues fan, you will be after hearing the Icy-Cold tones of The Frost Kings!
