Summer Live Music Festival 2025 - Mel Lastman Square
The Summer Live Music Festival 2025 expands to North York for a second day of outstanding music in the heart of the city. Set in the urban oasis of Mel Lastman Square, this free public event invites audiences to gather for a dynamic afternoon and evening of live performances featuring powerful big band swing, genre-crossing jazz fusion, and culturally rich global rhythms.
This northern edition of SLMF offers a community-focused experience where families, students, and music lovers alike can relax by the fountain, grab a bite from local vendors, and discover the next generation of Canadian musical talent. The lineup features four critically recognized groups including the legendary George Lake Big Band and rising stars such as Spencer MacKenzie and RimayCanada all known for electrifying stage presence and artistic depth.
The open-air setting offers built-in seating and a casual plaza atmosphere perfect for dancing, lounging, and celebrating music under the sky. With performances scheduled throughout the day, visitors are welcome to come early and stay late as the square transforms into a live soundtrack for summer in the city.
Presented by Emerging Artists Association and SING! The Toronto International Vocal Arts Festival, this second day of SLMF 2025 continues the mission of spotlighting emerging artists while offering free, accessible cultural programming to Torontos diverse communities.
