Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a band with your mother? Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright, a mother/daughter duo, have just released their first collaboration Fairytale and Myth, which has been nominated for The Best Singer/Songwriter Award by the Independent Music Awards. Their show is a fun filled evening of great songs with plenty of harmonies.
Suzzy Roche is a singer/songwriter/performer/author and founding member of the singing group The Roches. She has recorded over fifteen albums, written music for TV and Film, and toured extensively for thirty years across the U.S. and Europe. Zero Church: an unusual collection of prayers (a collaboration with Maggie Roche) which was developed at Harvard's Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue was originally staged at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, and has been performed around the country. Suzzy has been an associate member of The Wooster Group; the experimental theater company based in New York City, and performed with them off and on for years throughout Europe. Her children's book Want To Be In A Band (Random House) was published in February 2013. Wayward Saints (Hyperion/Voice) is her first novel and was a selection of the Spring 2012 B&N Discover Great New Writers Program. Suzzy and her daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche have just released a brand new recording Fairytale and Myth: their first collaboration.
Lucy Wainwright Roche was born in NYC into two influential musical families (daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Suzzy Roche). A full time touring musician, with an ever-expanding solo career, Lucy is known for her crystal clear voice, straightforward, humorous stage presence, and insightful, melodic songwriting. Her recordings include: 8 Songs, 8 More, Lucy and her brand new 2013 release CD called There's a Last Time For Everything. Fairytale and Myth is the first collaboration between Lucy and her mother, Suzzy Roche and has been nominated for Best Singer/Songwriter Album of the Year by the Independent Music Awards.
Suzzy and Maggie Roche graced Lily Pads in 2012, for a magical night of music. This show with Suzzy and Lucy promises to deliver the same special kind of melodic wonderment. We can't wait.
