"Show me the TAP Show me the SOUL" a Tap Dance Musical in honor of National Tap Dance Day
Tap Soul Productions presents the Off-Broadway world premiere of the new unique tap dance musical "Show me the TAP! Show me the SOUL!" a one night only concert featuring the musical styling of vocal and upright bassist duo Acute Inflections at the Helen Mills Theatre 137 w 26th Street Sunday May 25th at 7PM. JL Williams (FELA!, Cotton Club Parade) leads the musical on a high and powerful journey of self discovery through song and dance. Elasea Douglas (FELA!) co stars in the role "Love of Singing" with Kyle Wilder as the guest tap dancer, Dan Cake on piano, and David Cornejo on drums. The musical is written and directed by Luster Chauncey-Williams and Choreographed by Jeffery Chauncey-Williams with musical selections of songs written by Duke Ellington, Rogers & Hammerstein, Bill Whithers, and John Legend as well as original songs written by Jeffery Chauncey- Williams, Elasea Douglas and Sadiki Pierre of Acute Inflections.
The new tap dance musical is debuting on the 25th Anniversary of National Tap Dance Day and the 136th birthday of tap trail blazer Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. General Admission is $20. A Portion of the proceeds will go to the Actors Fund.
