Mercedes Maresca (piano) Mao Yamada (double bass) + Special guest

Mercedes Maresca is from Argentina and has been based in London since 1999.
She is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and  improviser.
Mercedes has created Raices project, a collection of  small albums that explores her South American roots and her deep connection with the sound world of Spiritual Jazz.
She will be performing an improvised set  based on her recently released  EP Gotas de Colores and  her upcoming album Caminos.
In her own words these short pieces are "Pensamientos del alma", thoughts of the soul.

Wulf Müller description of Mercedes' music: "These miniatures are  atmospheric, melodic, touching and easy to listen to, without losing their musical deepness.  And they showcase a very unique artist".

Mao Yamada has been performing in and around London since 1994.
He toured with Zongamin (XL recordings), Georgia (Domino records) around Europe, US and Japan. He has also toured as the regular bassist for Dominic Pipkins  Dom & The Ikos in UK and Europe.

On double bass, Mao has worked with various London based musicians and projects such as Shirt Tail Stompers, Our Little Trio, Roy Pfeffer, Cameron Pierre, Dominic Ashworth, Greg Heath, Nick Meier, Dorian Ford, Shabaka Hutchings, Leon Greening, Edison Herbert, Jonathan Gee, Vimala Rowe, Leon Garner. Mao has toured Japan in 2017, 2019 and 2024 as a trio featuring Dorian Ford and a Japanese drumming legend Yasuhiro Yoshigaki.
