Unheard Of! Part 6: Sacred and secular song in Jewish languages
The Unheard Of! series presents poetry, song and oral literature in the many endangered languages of the world. In our 6th installment we focus on some of the lesser known Jewish languages still spoken in New York.

Sarah Aroeste (http://www.saraharoeste.com/) will sing modern and traditional Ladino songs

Cantor Yohai Cohen from the Jewish Syrian community of Brooklyn will perform traditional piyutim in Judeo-Arabic and Hebrew.
