CABARET, COMEDY, AND COFFEE TALK with RYAN G. HINDS LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
FRIDAY, APRIL 25 - 11pm
COMEDY, CABARET, AND COFFEE TALK with RYAN G. HINDS
FEATURING: TROY JACKSON, TREVOR CAMPBELL, & JENI WALLS

The hit monthly cabaret/chat show springs forward! Hosted by award-winning actor and singer Ryan G. Hinds, this sassy evening combines comedy, cabaret, and the classic talk show format, resulting in a unique and fun night out. For April, Hinds welcomes:

Troy Jackson: Troy Jackson is a Nova Scotian, Afro-Metis singer, host, and writer. He released his debut Ep "Cd of Troy" in 2009. His punk, funk gay anthem "The Batty Boys Revenge" (Directed by Alison Duke) has screened everywhere from the Art Gallery of Ontario to The North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Jackson is  currently working on dance tracks to be released for World Pride 2014 and will be shooting the next music video for the band MAGT of which he is the "T".  For more info fiercely tune it to www.troyjackson.ca

Trevor Campbell: Trevor Campbell is a product of the year of the pig (imaginative and escapistic), the sign of Sagittarius (optimistic and reckless), his mother and father (gregarious and stoic), and the Spice Girls (tell him what you want/what you really, really want). He has recorded 4 albums about feelings, created and performed in one 8-episode web series about Tracy Chapman, and written two books about people and places they live in.  He had a cat for a while but now it lives with his mom.

Jeni Walls: Jeni Walls is a Toronto based singer/actor/impersonator/host and producer, widely known for her weekly standing-room-only open mic event SINGular Sensation (every Monday night at Statler's). Most recently she reprised her role as Goldilocks in the original Canadian musical Fairy Tale Ending (Best of Fringe 2010, Next Stage Festival 2011) at the Stratford Spring Works Festival and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Liza Minnelli in the one woman show Liza Live! She has also played leading roles in Toronto productions of RENT, Beauty and the Beast, Wizard of Oz and the Canadian premieres of Reefer Madness and High Fidelity as well as the Dora Nominated original musical Off-Broadway, On Stage with Angelwalk Theatre, with whom she is on the Artist Advisory Board. Over the past 5 years Jennifer has toured across North America as Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga (who she also portrayed in John Greyson's documentary Jericho).

As a multi-disciplinary performance artist, Ryan G. Hinds has worked alongside artists such as Kathy Griffin, Douglas Coupland, Liza Minnelli, Debbie Reynolds, Gregory Hines, and Salome Bey.  This year, he danced in MSM for lemonTree creations at Toronto Fringe Festival and performed two sold-out headlining engagements at Just For Laughs in Montreal.  In 2012, Ryan made his Brazilian cabaret debut, performing in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and followed it up with the multi-artist revue DISCO DOWN for Pride Toronto.   He also made his Summerworks debut with the play "Dutchman" for Lemontree/Obsidian with Sabryn Rock, and performed in the critically acclaimed Nuit Blanche installation "Museum of the Rapture".   Ryan's previous Nuit Blanche creation, 2007's End of the Party Party (in collaboration with Will Munro and Ina unt Ina) set a single-night attendance record for the Art Gallery of Ontario.  His theatre work includes Sky Gilbert's Dora-nominated "The Bewitching of Max Gunther" at Passe Muraille, De Colores Festival of New Works, Greta in "Bent" at Hart House and a 15-year association with Buddies in Bad Times (highlights include "Tightrope" with Montreal's 2Boys.tv, three consecutive years in Rhubarb Festival, "P'artiste" with The Scandelles, "Half-Cocked",  his own show "Glitter all the Way!",  and 2 years as co-curator of ART ATTACK,  Buddies' annual fundraiser). Notably, he is one of only a few people to have been in both the movie version (as a hed-head) and a stage production (as Hedwig) of Hedwig & the Angry Inch.
