When Cindy Kalmenson left Los Angeles for Nashville in 1995 she was determined to make a name for herself. Landing a gig at the legendary Windows On the Cumberland in the historic downtown area beside the Cumberland river, Cindy gave a memorable performance to Boots, the owner and bartender. With 34 years of wisdom , it dawned on her that she needed friends and other peoples' friends to build an audience so she began the search for other writers that impressed and inspired her to launch the show she named GIrls with Guitars. Well within it's first few years , the show blossomed into a colorful array of singer songwriters featuring 8-10 artists with a rocking' house band consisting of percussion and dobro. GWG had a very loyal following and led to major label and publishing deals and helped launched many careers including the likes of Mary Gauthier, Mindy Smith, Kimberly Dahme and hit writers Lisa Carver and Nicole Witt. Soon the venue changed to the Legendary Douglas Corner where it remained for 10 more years. Now Cindy is bringing Girls with Guitars Way Out West to Ojai including
