Nana J and The Collaborators Debut
This show is a debut of the band 'Nana J and The Collaborators'.
Nana J and the Collaborators are a band headlined by Vocalist and Pianist Hannah Spaid with the collaborators being an all encompassing term of endearment for the additional band members, currently, Jared Ammon (drums) and Abbee Fortson (bass).
This group was crafted by Hannah in hopes of creating with like minded individuals. They have worked together in expanding her pieces and are collaborating on all projects moving forward.
This show will have 5 featured poets split between 2 dates: Mr.Moe Lenora Elaine Poetic Mama Jandeltha Rae IamMe
Each of these poets has a range of subjects discussed and are extremely talented in their own right. They are all currently based out of the Twin Cities. Lenora Elaine hosts her own show - Orisun Soul Sessions and Poetic Mama hosts her own show - Mamas House. These artists have been asked to perform their favorite and most impactful poems.
Paola Evangelista will be selling her pottery - Chola Ceramics
N/A Beverages will be served with a social hour after the event.
Dress Code: Jazz Club (encouraged not enforced)
This event will be video recorded.
Thank you to everyone involved and to all supporting this vision.
MEET THE BAND:
Hannah aka Nana J (she/her) has been performing since childhood, and started pursuing her own career in 2019. She began performing in the Twin Cities and released her first EP, titled Empower, in 2021. Since then she has had opportunities performing at Dual Citizen Brewery, Flava Cafe w/ TruArtSpeaks, Heal Mpls w/ Mamas House and more. This show is the first opportunity to curate entirely based on her personal artistry. Her motto is: Laugh Loud, Sing Louder.
Jared (he/him) picked up his first drumsticks at age 10. Music has surrounded his life, from playing in concert band to teaching lessons. He currently plays for Side.Door, an emerging jazz/funk band in Minneapolis. He is eager to continue to express and create with Hannah and Abbee.
Since falling in love with jazz piano in high school, Abbee (sometimes Abbi) (she/her) finds every excuse she can to make music with her friends. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to play the bass and help Hannah realize her creative vision and can't wait to see where the Nana J project goes!
