Upon her death, a wealthy, "dragon lady" Chinese matriarch's final wish is for her grown Americanized children, estranged from herself as well as from each other, to give her the seven-day traditional Chinese funeral with the underlying intention of bringing them together as a real family. The matriarch's plan works, and the week ends with a shocking surprise. A funny and touching American comedy, Dim Sum Funeral is a contemporary multi-generational ethnic look into the cultural diversity of America that will "touch the heart," which is the direct English translation of the Chinese words "dim sum."
