ARTS ENCOUNTER, HARLEQUIN, PATCHWORK OF LOVE, Ages 7+
Dance and Art for ages 7+. 1:00p-3:00p.
This Harlequin is one of a group of children, playing games and getting ready for a costumed festival. When the poor Harlequin can't afford a costume, the others give his mom pieces of their own outfits. When Harlequin goes to bed, his mom knows just what to do.
In Arts Encounter, your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, folk dance, and classical ballet to recreate the story ballets. Your children will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, we'll explore a different culture and era while trying foods from around the world.
Your young dancers will meet for 2 classes daily (dance and art), for 4 consecutive days, to explore, through dance, art, music, and foods from around the world - a different theme each week.
