Explore key updates to the California Building Code Intervening Supplement, effective July 1, 2024, focusing on significant changes in accessibility requirements. This course covers topics such as accessible means of egress, all-gender restrooms, curb ramps, and public housing. Gain the knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with the latest standards and effectively implement these changes in your projects.

1.Understand the California code adoption cycle.

2.Learn about the significant changes to the 2022 CBC Supplement regarding accessibility compliance.

3.Understand why the codes were changed and the potential impacts on projects.

4.Learn to avoid common errors and misconceptions.

Don Wood is a Manager with Jensen Hughes in Los Angeles, CA. Don is an experienced life safety and accessibility code consultant who enjoys helping architects and developers achieve their vision while designing a safe and accessible environment for end users. In the Q4 2022 issue of Fire Protection Engineering, Don published a short feature article on Accessible Means of Egress. He is a registered Fire Protection Engineer and Certified Access Specialist (CASp) in the State of California. He holds further accreditations from the International Code Council and the Accessibility Professionals Association.
