FRIDAY MAY 17 at 7:00 PM

SEATTLE CABARET FESTIVAL PRESENTS:
LINDA KOSUT in "CATHARSIS"

Catharsis: defined as "the purging of emotions or relieving of emotional tensions, especially through certain kinds of art, as tragedy or music!"

ABOUT LINDA KOSUT

Linda Kosut sings an eclectic repertoire: standards, pop, folk. Growing up in The Bronx, she sat with her dad on the piano bench singing with him as he played. Just before retirement age, she decided to pursue her dream, and won national acclaim for her recordings: "Life is but a dream"" (Cabaret Hotline's Top 10 CDs 2003) and "Long As You're Living", the music of Oscar Brown Jr. (Backstage Magazine's Bistro/BMI Award for Outstanding Recording). Her 2014 CD "Easy Come Easy Go" honors musician Johnny Green. Linda's performed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Seattle, even Italy. After 36 years in San Francisco, she now lives in Roseville, CA.

SEATTLE CABARET FESTIVAL 2024 PRESENTS:
JULIE CASCIOPPO in "FIRE AND ICE"

Half Norwegian and Half Sicilian, what she's got is worth a billion! Julie weaves a story around her ancestral heritage, including being a contestant on the hit Norwegian reality show ALT FOR NORGE (ALL FOR NORWAY). This musical journey comes alive with original songs by Julie and standard songs that unfold an absorbing story of immigration, human fortitude and humor. With Antonius Mulia on piano.

ABOUT JULIE CASCIOPPO

Julie has been performing cabaret since 1980, in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and Paris. Attending the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, Julie honed her finer techniques of Cabaret Performance from New York's best Cabaret Artists. The daughter of a Sicilian butcher and a cool blonde Norwegian beauty, Julie grew up in Seattle's multi-ethnic Ballard neighborhood: "Retro jazz and popular music of my parent's era was bombarded into my psyche. I didn't have a choice and I loved it." Julie originally intended to have a career as a teacher, but the lure of the limelight proved too powerful - as her international career proves.
