ABOUT THE JUSTIN CARR WANTS WORLD PEACE FOUNDATION (JCWWP)

https://vimeo.com/642051651

JUSTIN CARR was an exuberant, budding Renaissance scholar-athlete at Harvard-Westlake School. He was the only child of Darrell Carr and Susan Toler Carr. From a young age, he had a strong affinity for the visual and performing arts. He dreamed of world peace since he was four years old. Justin also was a steadfast supporter of the underdog and stood up for what was right, regardless of the social consequences.

On February 22, 2013, after diving into the school pool for his usual swim practice, Justin died suddenly and unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which caused his Sudden Cardiac Arrest/Death (SCA/SCD). He was 16 years old. SCA is not the same as a Heart Attack. SCA is caused by a Malfunction in the Heart's Electrical System or Structure that causes the heart to stop suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating.

SCA is the #1 killer of student-athletes and is the leading cause of death on school campuses. It also contributes to the #2 medical cause of death for youth and young adults under 25. One in 300 youth has an undetected heart condition that puts them at risk. NFL player Damar Hamlin collapsed on national television, and  27 trained responders rushed to Damar's aid that day. In addition, NBA Star LeBron James's son. Bronny James made national headlines after surviving a cardiac arrest while practicing at USC. Very few of our students have resources available when their SCA/SCD hits.

The Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation (JCWWP), a 501(c) (3) organization, was created in his honor and as a memorial to his interests, hopes, and dreams for the world. JCWWP's mission supports Justin's blueprints he left behind, focusing on the three arc platforms and areas he excelled in (Art- visual and performance), dreamed of (Peace), and exhibited and succumbed to (Heart).

Please note: Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation (JCWWP) plans to take photographs, audio, and video during our in-person events and reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any JCWWP event without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. JCWWP may use the photograph/video in JCWWP educational, news, or promotional materials, whether in print, electronic, or other forms of media, including on our website.
To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent, or legal guardian.

A person attending a JCWWP event (or one we are participating in) who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer and/or the event organizers and/or contact JCWWP at JustinCarrWPFoundation@gmail.com and include an identifying photograph for reference. JCWWP will use the photo for identification purposes (only) and will hold the request in confidence.

By participating in a JCWWP event or by failing to notify JCWWP, in writing, your desire to not have your photograph used by JCWWP, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless, and indemnify JCWWP from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness. Thank you.
