Building Sustainably: How innovative lighting controls and shading solutions support sustainable building design.

Presented by Lutron

Sustainability is an oft-discussed design term; yet there is confusion about what it is and how to use new (and existing) technologies to achieve sustainable building designs. This course helps professionals understand 1) how to define sustainability and its role in the built environment; 2) what benefits it can provide to people, buildings, and businesses; and 3) how to practically apply best practices in the design of lighting controls and shading solutions that facilitate and support sustainable spaces.

Explore the elements of environmental sustainability in the context of the built environment.
Examine current building codes, standards, and certifications, and analyze their relationship
       to sustainable building design.
Explore the most sustainable design practices for lighting control and shading specification.
Review real-life case studies to illustrate how lighting controls and shading solutions
       contribute to sustainable design.
