The Doll Shop
Please note: Show times are Saturday 7:30 PM and Sunday 4:00 PM.
One fine day in the year 1915, several patrons visit a Parisian doll shop specializing in unusual dancing dolls. The enthralled patrons are treated to demonstrations by dolls representing various countries and dolls of a circus theme before two prized Ballet Dolls are brought out. These two treasured dolls are purchased separately by different patrons, and arrangements for shipping are made.
Unbeknownst to the patrons or shopkeeper, the dolls have a secret after-hours life and the Ballet Dolls are devastated at being separated forever. Sensing the deep sorrow of broken hearts, cupids arrive and vow to devise a plan assuring that amour will prevail. The dolls celebrate until the cupids return and whisk the Ballet Dolls away for safe hiding.
The following morning the patrons return to check their purchases and, upon discovering the crates are empty, accuse the shopkeeper of trickery. To everyone's amazement, the dolls rally to her defense sending the patrons out the door before the cupids return with the happy couple.
Adding to the excitement, the company dancers will also premier two original pieces commissioned by the company. Join us for exciting performances of contemporary ballet and neoclassical dance.
Tickets will also be available at the door beginning one hour before each show.
