From Chile: "El juicio a Pascual Pichn" (The Trial of Pascual Pichn) In southern Chile, where vast forest plantations open doors to international markets, but wreaking havoc on the environment - and the communal life of the Mapuche - two neighbors, a powerful landowner and a respected Lonko, engage in a dispute over land. One night the house of the landowner is in flames. The landowner accuses its neighbor Mapuche Lonko and brings him to court. Inflamed, the Mapuche stand in his defense. What seemed then a simple dispute between neighbors turns into a clash between two cultures.
From Bolivia: "Los Ricos" (The Rich) Music of the Afro-Bolivian youth from several communities, expressing their vivacity and happiness through their music and dance but at the same time their performances comment on the disparity between the poor and the rich.
From Ecuador: "Oro de Baltazar" (Baltazars Gold) The main character Baltasar Ushca, is an indigenous Puruha, from the province of Chimborazo in Ecuador. At the age of 64 years old he continues the tradition of cutting ice from the High Andes to bring to the lowland towns and villages for sale. Now, Baltasars own sons are not interested in the ice market leaving Baltasar as the last ice vendor of his generation.
