This concert will feature works for clarinet and string quartet, starting with Titan by minimalist composer Marc Mellits. This work for bass clarinet and strings is a musical constellation of eight contrasting and groovy movements. Followed by Jessie Montgomery's Strum, relentlessly driven by strumming pizzicatos and inspired by American folk idioms. We end this program with the elegant and virtuosic Clarinet Quintet by Carl Maria von Weber.
