Winter Village Music Camp 2024
Welcome to the Winter Village Music Camp 2024,-a fun and inspiring weekend of instruction, jamming and performance located at the beautiful La Tourelle resort in Ithaca, NY. We have a great lineup of visiting teacher-performers on board with more to be announced soon. And many of our talented Ithaca faculty will be returning with a few new additions from Ithaca and the Finger Lakes. Heres who we have confirmed to date:
Rachel Eddy: Old time fiddle, banjo, guitar, and singing.
Jason Anick: Swing and bluegrass fiddle and mandolin.
Judy Hyman: Old time fiddle
Joe Crookston: Songwriting, singing, guitar, and performance.
Katie Martucci: Singing, vocal harmony, songwriting, guitar and fiddle.
Grant Flick: Swing and bluegrass fiddle, mandolin and guitar
Dave Davies: Swing guitar, vocal harmony and improvisation.
John and Cathy Cadley: Songwriting, bluegrass guitar, and vocal harmony.
Tim Ball: Bluegrass fiddle & guitar
More faculty will be added during the next two weeks.
ABOUT THE WEEKEND
FRIDAY OVERVIEW: Instruction will begin on Friday afternoon at 1pm with 2 hour-long workshops then special band workshops/ casual concerts and jams at 4pm. A happy hour opening reception and jam in the lobby and dinner will begin at 5pm. At 7:00 there will be an orientation session for all campers and faculty, followed by facilitated jam sessions for campers with varying experience and stylistic interests, many led by camp faculty.
SATURDAY OVERVIEW: Saturday will begin with early-riser jam sessions, followed by two 60 - 75 minute instructional workshops. Lunch will be served in the bistro at noon with a lunch hour lobby jam. There will be two afternoon workshops followed by a 4pm slot for band workshops and special events. Lobby happy hour jam and dinner will begin at 5pm, followed by the Faculty Concert from 7:30 to 10:00pm. After the concert there will be some designated jamming rooms based on stylistic interest and experience, along with music happening throughout the hotel.
SUNDAY OVERVIEW: Sunday morning will also begin with song and tune swaps, followed by two morning workshops. This year we are adding two Sunday afternoon sessions as well since it is Martin Luther Kings holiday weekend. The camp will end at or around 4pm.
Early registration will open on Saturday, September 16th and stay open until October 31st or until we fill 45 spots. Registration will be limited to 85 registrants. Weekend Registration includes one Saturday night faculty concert ticket.
Camp registration will be closed at 80 registrants. Its great to be hosting another winter camp at La Tourelle after a few year hiatus.
Special, reduced room rates at La Tourelle will be posted soon on the web site.
Tickets for the Saturday night Faculty Concert will be available on October 1st.

The main hotel is fully accessible. Some workshop rooms in the Yellow Barn are not accessible so please let us know if you have mobility challenges and we can arrange workshops accordingly.
