Drew Kennedy & Courtney Patton
For those who may not be aware, Drew Kennedy is as engaginng of a talker as he is a singer. As a traceling, Texas-based troubadour, Kennedy falls into the lineage of Guy CLark, more than say, Pat Green, and his albums, specifically, Dollar Theater Movie and last years's excellent An AUdsio Guide to Cross COuntry Travel, contain ample amounts of wit and plan ol' common sense conveyed in very uncommon ways. His rich, nasally twang is distinctive without distracting, and it only adds to the rest of what makes Kennedy stand-out in the crowded river of Lone Star State singer/songwriters. Kennedy who can write a compelling story to go alo9ng with telling and singing them, has been ahead of the artist-blogging curve for a while now. FInally, he's joining the ranks of those whorelease well-done videos. It's hard not to really dig red high heels, isn't it?  -Kelly Dearmore, DC9, Dallas Observer

Stephenville singer/songwriter Courtney Patton has flown a little under the radar in recent years, far from a household name but a welcome discovery for listeners who've found their way to her sweet, soulful, and subtle approach to classic country music. Her expansive voice, laced with deep Texas twang but bearing the influence of favorite songwriters from the '70s folk-rock scene all the way through the present day, gives new life to old themes of finding love and freedom where you can and trying to hold yourself together when it slips away. She's already a favorite of some of the scene's brightest artists, having collaborated and played with the likes of Mike McClure, The Trishas, and Jason Eady. With new material in the pipeline and a renewed interest in taking her music to a larger audience, she's becoming not only a peer in talent but an indispensable part of the regional independent country music world herself.

Come to the show. Bring a friend. Bring your spouse. Bring your favorite beverage. But most of all bring a warm smile and a great Eden welcome to the artists coming to our home. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 day of show. But hurry, this show is expected to sell out, and there will be no standing room tickets sold. For tickets and info, call the Eden City Office at 869-2211 or visit www.edentexas.com. Please note this is an outdoor venue so please dress accoringly & unfortunately there will be no rain checks.
