The Thinking Heart & Casco Bay Tummlers: History in Poetry and Music - a CD Release Concert
Join us for a journey into one of history s darkest passages and the stirring and heart-spirited music of Jewish jazz: The Thinking Heart, a performance in two voices, with cello, based on the writings of a Dutch woman, Etty Hillesum, who died in the Holocaust. The Thinking Heart is an original arrangement of Etty Hillesums journal and letters, constellated as poems, by Martin Steingesser, and presented by him and Judy Tierney, with cellist Robin Jellis. The Thinking Heart CD is being released by Old Port Records this April. Followed by a performance by The Casco Bay Tummlers, Portlands own all-star Klezmer Band.
