Lisa Eichhorn Bio
After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Lisa Eichhorn shot to fame in 1979 with her first feature film, "Yanks," co-starring Vanessa Redgrave and Richard Gere and for which she received two Golden Globe nominations. "The Europeans," co-starring Lee Remick, for the team of Merchant-Ivory followed. This film earned her a British Academy of Film and Television Award [BAFTA] nomination. "Cutter's Way," the rereleased "Cutter and Bone," won her Best Actress at Deauville. That film also starred Jeff Bridges and John Heard and became a cult classic, making on its debut the front page of La Monde. This was a rare feat for any film at that time.

Miss Eichhorn then began work on the ill-fated "All Night Long," co-starring Gene Hackman, which many believe knocked Miss Eichhorn prematurely off her meteoric rise to stardom, as she was fired three weeks into filming and replaced in one of Hollywood's great political power plays of the 1980s by Barbra Streisand starring for her agent's director husband.

Her next project was in Poland where she spent three grueling months making the CBS Time/Life film "The Wall" with Eli Wallach, Dianne Wiest and Griffin Dunne. The film had major budgeting problems and was never released as a feature. Because of her work as a Jewish resistance fighter, however, she was asked to speak in Houston, Texas, two years later to several hundred Holocaust survivors, an honor she counts as one of the single greatest moments of her career.

At this time she was married briefly to Ben Nye Jr. from Hollywood's make-up dynasty and had her daughter, Emily.

Miss Eichhorn branched out in the '80s by incorporating theater, television and film in both the United States and England into her resume, something which was considered dangerous at the time as careers tended to be pigeon-holed.

She made her New York stage debut Off-Broadway in "The Common Pursuit," costarring Nathan Lane, and on Broadway in 1991 in "The Speed of Darkness" with Robert Sean Leonard and Stephen Lang.

In a career spanning nearly three decades, Lisa Eichhorn has starred in television in both the U
