Okbari Middle Eastern Ensemble
Please join Okbari Middle Eastern Ensemble for an evening of music from the Middle East and Turkey. The Ensemble will present instrumental and vocal music from the wasla tradition of Aleppo (Syria), Andalusian Nubah (North Africa and Arab/Berber Spain) and the classical instrumental and vocal music of late Ottoman Turkey. Okbari Middle Eastern Ensemble performs on oud (fretless Middle Eastern lute), qanun (72-stringed Middle Eastern micro-tonal zither), nay (ancient Middle Eastern reed flute), vocals and Middle Eastern percussion.
