"I Thought It Was Forever" is from award-nominated director, Maniko Barthelemy, who directed "The Unlikely Sex Offenders," and is another critical, serious and timely reflection of life, told through the hearts of real people. What really happens when a husband or wife reveals his or her sexual attraction to the same sex? In this documentary love, marriage and the American dream all emotionally erupt in five marriages between people of diverse ages, races and religious backgrounds, deal with adultery and homosexuality. In this riveting film, through on-camera candid interviews, family photos, b-roll, men and women, straight and gay, dispel misconceptions in raw and revelatory fashion as they open up about the emotional and physical turmoil that rips through their lives before, during, and after a secret so painful some find hard to describe without getting visibly emotional.
