Jazz at The Green Room: Russ Gershon & Rusty Scott Duo
We're very excited to present this first-time duo performance by two Boston jazz fixtures: reeds player Russ Gershon and pianist Rusty Scott.
Since 1985, Russ Gershon has helmed the award-winning Either/Orchestra, the exciting and ever-evolving ensemble that critic Bob Blumenthal called "the leading little big-band in the jazz world." The ten-piece Either/Orchestra, based right here in Somerville, is one of the jazz world's most long-lived and distinguished groups. Alumni include jazz stars such as John Medeski, Matt Wilson, Miguel Zenon, Jaleel Shaw & Josh Roseman.
When he's not touring with New England R&B institution Roomful of Blues, Rusty Scott can be found fronting his own band, playing late night organ trios with Le Pigeon (or are they B3 Kings? It's hard to keep track...) and performing with Paul Ahlstrand's acoustic quartet, among others.
