Jazz at The Green Room: Kurtis Rivers & John Kordalewski Duo
Reeds player Kurtis Rivers, a fixture in Boston's jazz world for decades, is probably best known for his work with The Makanda Project, his years-long Sunday night residency at the Ramsey/Toy VFW Post in Dorchester, and his stint with Either/Orchestra, among others.
Since 2005, pianist John Kordalewski has lead the Makanda Project, an ensemble dedicated to preserving the legacy of the late composer Makanda Ken McIntyre, and made up of some of Boston's finest jazz musicians.
They will come together on March 8 for a rare duo performance. It should be a very special evening of music.
