Utopia Opera presents UTOPIA, LIMITED by Gilbert & Sullivan
Utopia Opera finally presents UTOPIA, LIMITED in a comeback gala event
words by W.S. Gilbert music by Arthur Sullivan
Full cast and orchestra bring life to the show that gave Utopia Opera its name back in 2011. Presented in a semi-staged production with dialogue, supertitles, extra jokes, subtracted jokes, costumes, costumelettes, choreography (where appropriate), and a special appearance by Ringo Starr*. To top it all off: our all-star cast singing some of the most glorious music ever written in the cause of satirizing capitalism.
This production unites, for the first time on this side of the Atlantic, the creative team behind London's Forbear! Theatre: Founder/Director Rachel Gianesse Middle and Musical Director William Remmers. After years of triumphs at the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, Ettington Park Opera, and London's pub theatre scene, the duo is ready to rock the shores of the island of New York with their particularly seasoned brand of equally madcap and heartfelt Gilbert & Sullivan.
