A Tribute to Ray Alden featuring Tater Patch & The Run of the Mill String Band
We celebrate the life and music of Ray Alden (July 2, 1942 September 19, 2009), the "musical orphan" from the Bronx who traveled south and became hooked on the vibrant sounds of North Carolina's Round Peak community. Ray was a pioneering field recordist and producer, a generation-bridging musical collaborator, and tireless promoter of the "real folk music" of the American south. We remember his kindred spirit with a lively evening of old-time string band music played by many of his dear friends.
