Haydn's Missa in Angustiis (the Nelson Mass) Sunday March 12 ~ 4:00 pm
Pasadena Pro Musica will present perhaps Franz Joseph Haydn's finest creation -- the 1798 Mass #11 in D-minor. Haydn was at the top of his profession when the mass was written, but his world was in turmoil. "Missa in Angustiis" means "mass for troubled times" and perhaps this is as appropriate today as it was more than 200 years ago. Pro Musica was proud to perform Haydn's Creation in 2019 and we're just as excited to bring another of his masterpieces to life.
