Before opening her new solo show this Spring 2014, Shana Farr is performing her critically acclaimed show "Whistling Away The Dark Through Songs of Julie Andrews" one more time in New York City as a Benefit Performance for The Players, celebrating it's 125th Anniversary. She has performed this show to sold-out audiences in New York, London, St. Louis, Tallahassee, and soon to be in Orlando. Don't miss the opportunity to see Shana Farr and Fred Barton perform together once again in what the Wall Street Journal says is an "EXCELLENT Julie Andrews tribute."
Inspired by the rich collection of lyrics and melodies that have become synonymous with Julie Andrews, award-winning songstress, Shana Farr weaves together an evening of songs that represent not only great American standards by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, the Gershwins, and the Sherman Brothers, but also beautiful, lesser known numbers by Henry Mancini, Arthur Schwartz, Noel Coward, Jimmy van Heusen and more.
Ms. Farr brings her own voice and interpretations to these timeless songs that help her pay tribute to a performer she holds in high regard. Throughout the show, she shares stories about how a young English girl, Julie Andrews, quickly became America's sweetheart and influenced the great songwriters of both Broadway and Hollywood.
Shana Farr engages the audience the minute she steps onto the stage, whether it be in a cabaret venue or in a concert hall, and carries them with her through her 70 minute inspirational musical journey.
