Rob Heath at The Rocky
Join us for an evening of excellent songs and stories from Rob Heath.
Robs songs run the gamut from: whimsical, skeptical, explosive, introspective, hopeful, heart-rending, brooding, clever, and all of them brutally honest. Accolades include first place in the Calgary Folk Music Festival Songwriter Contest, winning the New Folk competition at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival, and winning a Canadian Radio Music Award for Songwriter of the Year.
Opening the evening is Calgary singer-songwriter, Christie Simmons. Of her music she says: "I am lucky that music has always been my faithful companion. As a songwriter its my challenge and delight to write music that speaks to the joys of the mundane and the magical and to the soft underbelly of life. I have been raised among colourful characters, visual artists and writers who knit a lifeline with their words. They, and Alberta this magnificent province I call home permeate me and shape my songs." She will be joined by Steve Goodchild, Rob McConnell and Helen Goodchild.
