SONGS IN THE KEY OF LOVE with The Karin Plato Trio
Jazz vocalist & composer Karin Plato will be appearing at the Roedde House Museum Jazz concert series on Thursday, February 13th with pianist Miles Black and clarinetist James Danderfer.

The trio will perform a program of songs with the theme "Songs In The Key of Love", perfectly suited for Valentine's.

Karin has selected a collection of familiar jazz standards by composers including Cole Porter, Irving Berlin & George Gershwin as well as other songs from the world of folk and pop music composed about everyone's favorite topic for songs: LOVE!

Whether you are on a date or simply want to enjoy an intimate jazz and blues concert on your own, we think you will enjoy the musicality and camaraderie that Karin, James and Miles share together on stage.
You'll hear a variety of ballads, bossas, swing standards & the blues. Come celebrate Valentine's with us

Karin Plato grew up in Saskatchewan where she studied music at The University of Saskatchewan. She's lived in Vancouver since 1985 and has released 7 recordings of jazz standards and originals. She's a Juno Award nominee, a  West Coast Music Award nominee and was 3 times nominated Jazz Vocalist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards in Toronto. Karin has performed in cities and towns across Canada and in the USA . She is a composer, arranger and producer and she currently teaches voice, theory and piano lessons in her Vancouver based studio to children and adults.

Miles Black and James Danderfer are both acclaimed musicians who each lead their own ensembles and they have performed and recorded with many musicians in Canada. They are both composers and arrangers and they are highly regarded by critics and peers alike.

There are 4 available spots, designated as "Roedde House Museum Guests", on a private parking lot at the back of the house (alongside Broughton St).

Other options include the parking lot at the Empire Landmark Hotel (Robson & Broughton) or street parking on Robson and in the West End.

Parking spots are scarce in the neighbourhood, so give yourself some extra time or use public transportation. (Closest Skytrain station: Burrard. We are on the #5 Robson bus route).

This concert is part of a monthly concert series, taking place on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm.

**This concert series would not be possible without the support of the McGrane Pearson Endowment Fund and to generous individual donors. Donations are always graciously accepted. Thank you!**
