Voices of the Universe
From breathtaking harmonies to ecstatic
and celebratory song, Soli Deo Gloria
presents music from Medieval to Modern
eras, famous poets, and the music of female
composers and arrangers. A skillful and glorious arrangement
of Antonio Lottis 8-part Crucifixus will be featured. Also
included are Clara Schumans lieder, music by Elaine Hagenberg,
and a fiery piece, Caritas Abudat, based on a text from 12th
century muse and musician, Hildegard von Bingen, with violin,
drum, and percussion. The chorale will complete the concert
with exciting spirituals, Morten Lauridsens Dirait-on, and
other diverse songs.
