TATS CRU: THE MURAL KINGS
In the mid '80s three teenagers in the Bronx began their artistic careers by creating subway graffiti. What began as an adolescent hobby evolved into a community of artists called Tats Cru whose expressively iconic style has brought them world recognition as "The Mural Kings."

Tats Cru: The Mural Kings is a feature length graffiti documentary that details the story of the world famous Tats Cru; a group of Bronx-based professional muralists whose work in aerosol has changed the perception of Graffiti as art. The film follows the world famous Tats Cru members as they produce their mural for The Graffiti Hall of Fame in Harlem and prepare to uphold their title as "The Mural Kings." Inter-cut with exclusive interviews detailing the journey that started twenty-five years ago, as three Bronx teenagers began their artistic careers by creating subway graffiti. This revealing documentary weaves together rare archival footage, exclusive in-depth interviews and a behind the scenes look at the fascinating and skillful mural production process. What results is an incredible depiction of the Tats Cru's positivity and ability to represent communities in a heartfelt and artful way.
