We are excited to welcome former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and one of the most popular wrestlers of the 1980s, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, to Music City Toys on Saturday November 12 from Noon-3pm.
Tommy began his wrestling career in 1974 right here in Tennessee after being trained by Jerry Jarrett and Tojo Yamamoto and later went on to be named Pro Wrestling Illustrateds Rookie of the Year. Tommy became a huge star in the Georgia territory and took part in one of the most famous cage matches in wrestling history, The Last Battle of Atlanta , when he faced Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer at the Omni in 1983. Tommy also had great success in Memphis over the years with feuds against his former tag team partner Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and a legendary feud with Jerry The King Lawler. He held the WCW World Six Man Tag Team Championship twice, most notably as part of The York Foundation alongside Terry Taylor and Ricky Morton. Later in his career he even discovered his Italian roots as The Big Don to manage The FBI (Full Blooded Italians), Tracey Smothers and Little Guido, in ECW. By the way, we hear Nashville, Italy is beautiful this time of year.
Tommy has had a truly amazing and colorful career! He was elected to the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2021 and was honored by the Cauliflower Alley Club in Las Vegas as a 2022 Mens Wrestling Award Winner. Heres your chance to meet another bonafide legend of the squared circle as we close out our in store signings for 2022.
