The Play's The Thing: Drama with Music
Choral music of the theater has a drama all its own and enlivens the telling of a great play. We feature Leonard Bernstein's incidental music to the Lillian Hellmann play The Lark, a play on the trial of Joan of Arc.
From the New York Shakespeare Festival production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, we perform the wonderfully comic and evocative music by Richard Peaslee as well as excerpts from Arthur Honegger's King David. Guest professional actors will impersonate the important characters of the plays.
