P-Town Motown Get-Down
OVERVIEW Shake winter and dance into spring at the P-Town Motown Get-Down with those dazzling Carbonites, The Starletts. Start the fun with an invigorating alley-run, complete with Celebration Stations, and end at the Blue Sage for a booty-shakin' dance party in groovy, Motown style.
ALLEY RUN The Alley Run will begin at 6pm. Check in behind the Blue Sage to receive a map have your run timed. Various Celebration Stations will be set up along the way, where you will have to complete activities such as learning a dance move or lassoing a sheep, before proceeding. There is no charge to participate in the Alley Run.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS The most talented singers in Carbondale have joined forces to create an all star group that will soothe your soul and leave you wanting more. Each lady leading their own groups on the side create a force that cannot be matched. For hire for any party, celebration or event.
Four powerhouse vocalists share the leads and the back ups in a synergy of Motown, soul and rock with a hint of jam. Rediscover songs as familiar to you as your favorite pair of booty shakin' jeans gracefully updated for the new millenium. From one song to the next the energy pours from the stage. When Nikki Miller belts out Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and Shanti Gruber blows you away with the likes of "Shotgun" and "Shining Star", you'll find it hard to catch your breath! Then, just when you think you can, Meagan Goodwin will sweep you off your feet with favorites like "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Get Ready".
Behind these ladies you'll find the Gents, laying down the groove and the sizzle. Virtuoso Bass player Miles Philips plays his amazing 6-string, tapered-fret, Miles Philips Custom Bass (yes folks, he made the thing himself)! Rob Miller might just melt your face off with one of his solos and adds that gritty edge. The rock upon which the Starletts' house of soul is built is none other than drummer Billy Jensen, keeping time and exploring the possibilities.
The Starletts are on the rise and it feels like there's no limit to their potential.
