Gualala Arts Chamber Music Series presents Strauss, Tomkins, Zivian Trio on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 4 pm at the Gualala Arts Center. Axel Strauss, the first German artist ever to win the Naumburg Violin award, joins the seamless musical partnership of Tanya Tomkins and Eric Zivian for a memorable evening of sublime artistry, and outstanding music making. Past performances of Tomkins and Zivian have been described as transmitting deep emotion and drama. Strauss is a virtuoso to be reckoned with and his interpretive prowess is delightful. Tomkins is described as a performer who combines an intense dramatic fire with Apollonian poise" Zivians piano playing is extraordinary, full of color and energy.
