Margherita Fava

Margherita Fava, born in Vittorio Veneto (Italy), has always been in touch with a great number of different music styles from a very young age.

Over the past few years Margherita attended several workshops like Hudson Jazz Workshop, Umbria Jazz Clinics by Berklee and worked as a Teaching/Resident Assistant and Translator for Brevard Jazz Institute, Centrum Jazz Workshop, Girls Rock Detroit Music Camp and Veneto Jazz Workshop.
Margherita also worked as an arranger for her own projects Euro Trio and TATATU COLLECTIVE; as music director for First Congregational Church of Portland (MI); as a performer with Xavier Davis project Rise Up Detroit, Randy Napoleons Quartet, Greg Tardys Quartet, Detroit Carr Centers Gathering Orchestra, among others.

After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Studies (where she studied with 2x Grammy winner artist Xavier Davis), Margherita is now attending University of Tennessee as Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Jazz department (studying with renowned pianist Eric Reed).
