Leading in a Digital World focuses on understanding how to leverage disruptive technology innovations to enable the Internet of Things, including cloud computing, mobile devices, social collaboration, and big data. As the traditional analog world we live in becomes increasingly digital, the evolution to what Gartner coined as the digital industrial economy is inevitable.
What is the digital industrial economy? According to Peter Sondergaard, SVP, Head of Research at Gartner, it involves digitization of company assets and information to transform the business, generate value, and deliver better products, services, and customer experiences. While traditional CIOs and CTOs focus on back-office operations and internal users, today's IT executives need to focus on enabling better front-office engagements for customers and partners.
